When willthese busy bodies leave us alone and mind their own business. instead of telling us what we should, can or do watch on TV or in advertising. It seems to me that more and more of these know alls are about, trying to make choices for everyone rather than themselves. I do not need or want legislation or rules tightening, to stop forms of legal advertising. It seems that we the general public are incapable of making a correct decision, as far as these groups are concerned.

Is this chap actually throwing his toys out of the pram because somebody is threatening to take away some of his precious adverts?

i’m with and against these ads because if there was no ads how will we know the new meals and things like this.
But when teenagers just see these ads and not all of them ofcourse;they just go crazy and will go and buy many of these meals and this may cause obesity.
I don’t think that ads of junk food have to be barred but they should be advertised in a limited way.
thanks for reading my comment

Personally I liked Mr.Yeltsin. He had a nice face and strong arms and a solid physique. He was much better looking than Gorbachev.
I will remember him as one of the more visually stunning Russian political leaders.I would have liked to share a vodka with him.

dan jackson, Perth

He had such lovely trembly hands.

NO dont ban adverts !!! The food standerd agency is a complete waste of taxpayers money!!! This Quango should be scraped, and replace by an independent food watch dog group, made up of a wide mix of people, not in the pockets of the massive and very powerful food lobby .

jimadore, cardiff

I expect the food lobby are trying to ban this advertising because they’re making too much money and are running out of places to store it.

Oh god, here we go again..blah global warming..blah blah..CO2..
Take a calculator, do the following sum, then tell me I should not go on long haul flights.
6,000,000,000 x 6 x 60 x 24 x 365 x .5 of a litre.
Thats how much CO2 people pump into the atmosphere every year, and increasing.
Any enviros out there wanna come up with a solution ?? A green tax on breathing ????

Were we not being told a while ago that the sun is growing and eventually will consume the planets in it’s path? I.e us? If this is so - it would easily explain why it is getting warmer.

Oh yeah! Somebody call the boffins at Climate HQ and call off the research.

Thanks again to Rich.

i am really angry with those nasty northerners for trivialising a major earthquake in the UK. I am appalled with some of their comments. i was in the thick of it at 08:15 having just taken jessie for his walkies round the block. jessie is too scared to come out of his box since then and i live on my own and don’t know what to do with him. i’ve seen fire engines come up and down the street. i live near a petrol station and at first i thought the terrorists were coming to get me. it’s awful.
ethel, folkstone

I’m sure you’re near the top of the list of terrorist targets, Ethel. Just below “My Neighbour’s Ornamental Cherry Tree” I expect.

Also submitted by Tomsk.

This question, asked so many times,in so many ways on HYS,is going through cyclical change.
All the doomdayers posts…so many..,have all reflected the end is nigh. Now the forum,as it intended to do,has successfully, cleverly, rallied the more informed, and they are now outnumbering the gullible.People are no longer fooled by the the hype of global warming, and the bull our tax collectors are telling us.Me..can`t wait for a summer scorcher.

You’re wise beyond your years Ron. Maybe you could take your GCSEs a few years early?

What I don’t know is how much influence has in France. Is he or she the King or Queen of the Republic? I understand their dichotomy. Gone in England are ‘The Darling Buds of May’, we can not go back, much as I & many would like. It would be a shame to lose them in France, but then again it is the 21st Century. As an onlooker perhaps Sarzosky and Royale should share the Presidency, impossible I realise. There are times when you need the Right & times when you need the Centre Left. Compromise!
