Thanks to Gareth.

A major cause of the problems created by immigration is that people who come have no real connection with Britain. There are language problems and cultural problems all of which cost the country money, and upset the cultural balance.
I suggest that instead of encouraging immigration from the EU, we return to focusing on immigrants from the “old” Commonwealth, e.g. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc where the old values of the UK have been rooted and built upon, and whose people speak English.

That’s all very reasonable. It’s time we had a debate on this. Every time I try, the “PC Brigade” call me racist just because I happen to dislike all brown people and those cunts from Poland. It’s not racism, it’s “intelligent hating”.

Right on Brucelog, old Commonwealth nations like Malaysia, India and Papua New Guinea where people only speak English.

Yeah. So, let me get this straight: what he wants isn’t people who ‘have a connection with the United Kingdom’, but white people who speak English. Don’t we already have rather a lot of those?
Incidentally, if he took a look at India, he’d realise that in many respects India is more English than England.

“A major cause of the problems created by immigration is that people who come have no real connection with Britain.”

That’s not a ’cause of the problems created by immigration’. It’s a definition *of* immigration.

Well, the guy does have a point. Cultural disparity can cause problems, and one (very lazy) solution would be to only accept people whose culture matched the majority.
We shouldn’t be mocking this man for stupidity, we should be mocking him for laziness. It’s a lazy solution. If you don’t like cultural disparity, then wouldn’t it be better to work hard to build bridges between cultures?
Can you imagine a world where instead of knee-jerk xenophobic responses to immigration, we had people writing in to HYS saying things like “recently a lot of immigrants have moved in to my neighbourhood. A Pakistani family has moved in next door to me. I really would love to make friends with them, but I know nothing about them or their culture. Why isn’t the council doing anything to help me out? Maybe a series of leaflets, or even a few local “meet your neighbours” “fun days” or “fairs”…”

Darn it Brucelog I think you’ve nailed it old boy. We’ve no connection with these ‘pikkininny states’ so lets just recall all the old lot who got out of here yesteryear. By the way, be wary, there are some vicious rumours on extremist websites and other such literature purporting that we, the Great British, do have connections with these places. Some tosh about an umpire.
