Delusions of Grandeur and Outsiders04 Nov 2007 01:02 am

Got a link from something called Metafilter. People post links and other people comment on them. At least 80% of the users can spell and most of it’s just “normal for the internet”. Having said this, I felt it would be rude to let this inbound link pass without comment. So…

I’m with ethnomethodologist: some of the snark is rightly deserved, but other posts are really not that unreasonable, even if I disagree with them. I know it’s hip to make fun of people you disagree with rather than actually making a good point, but I’m far more impressed by people who can make hilarious fun of stupid arguments, rather than the posters themselves.

That’s because you’ve got a stick up your arse. People on the internet are called “Jim23″ and “KnifeHandChop”. What the fuck is “oneirodynia” eh? You pretentious po-faced shitfleck.

How do you manage to sound even more hateful, deluded and detached from reality than the unpleasant people who you ridicule?

And who in their right mind gets worked up by speling and grammor on the internet?

Small people with time on their hands John. You wouldn’t understand.

“grammor” is not a grammatical mistake. Put an inappropriate, comma in or something; it’s not hard.

Well, he did use ‘who’ where he should have used ‘whom’. Feller’s trying…

Sorry petal, I don’t actually know this KnifeHandChop (or, before anyone else asks, Jim23). It was just a random name I saw on someone’s webpage the day I posted this. I’m not sure if it was even a reference to the music you’re searching for.

Keep googling though. I’m sure there’s a friend for you out there somewhere.

Re Oneirodynia: It would seem to be an attempt to put “the power of dreams” into ancient Greek.

I don’t know who deserves shooting more. Onanodynia for creating it, or me for posting this.

Nah Gilbert, ‘who’ is quite correct in that sentence.
