Thanks to Tom for this one from “Is there a problem with drug use in the armed forces?”

This is hardly news.

Drugs and other intoxicants have been used by the armed forces of many countries for many years…whether that be a rum ration, ciggies or amphetamines…it’s NOT new!

Go watch Platoon if you don’t believe me.
Ben Cook, Horley, United Kingdom

I’ve seen that very same footage! This whole thing is a diversionary tactic by the evil BBC crypto-commie death eaters. Every moment we waste discussing drugs, Lord Voldemort grows stronger and the evil Decepticons are regrouping in preparation for their next attack on Earth.

Now, I used to live near Salisbury plain and regularly sold acid to squaddies, who said it made guard duty more entertaining.

Nothing like having to stand rigidly still for eight hours on acid. That’s my kind of evening.

As if there weren’t enough already, perhaps this warrants a new group on SYB. The category for people who are so divorced from real life they have to cite films as evidence of fact. Filmic Cunts?

I watched ‘Where eagles dare’ at the weekend – and there where no drugs in it.

Maybe this issue isnt as black or white as i orginally thought?

This certainly does complicate the issue. What we need is a “Film Studies” graduate who can tell us which films are exactly right about everything.

Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

I have a Masters in ‘factual filming, lies, damn lies and statistics’ and have completed over 2000 hours of research into the subject. You’ll be pleased to hear that ‘Dad’s Army’ is the definitive truth, so our boys are safe. phew.
