They could go the whole hog and simply re screen the news too so we can all imagine Thatcher is still on the throne, sorry I mean is PM, and that we are keeping those pesky Irish in their place and bashing the Argies for all their worth. Would save all that money we spend on the licence fee and all that bothersome time actually making new programmes that reflect aspects of life today. Incidentally, it would be fine to show Love Thy Neighbour as long as there was a sign in the corner of the screen permanently flashing away that read 'This is ironic!'....On second thoughts, that would probably spark a debate about whether the sign itself was just being ironic to mask the blatant racism of the programme.
