Thanks to Andrew for this.

Why worry about human rights in China, it’s none of our business. We already trade with countries that abuse human rights like Cuba and their Guantanamo bay prison for untried suspects.

Of course Guantanamo bay is in Cuba, I’ve looked it up.

You need to bang yourself against a wall for a bit until you’re less rubbish.

I think it’s kind of cute, some retard proudly informing us he ‘looked it up’, like an infant beaming next to a full potty.

Cuba’s “Untried Suspects”? I thought it was America’s!

He’s clearly being ironic. Quite a clever comment, I thought.

    Ah right. What’s his point?

Actually, the fact I have to ask this makes me wonder whether you’re right on either count :)

I think I’ve worked it out. He’s pointing out that we already trade with countries, like the USA, that routinely violate human rights.

I reckon, the mention of Cuba is meant to be funny. For that reason alone, I stand by my original comment.

Of course I’m clever, my mummy says so.

  7. on 21 Jan 2008 at 4:12 pm Royce

Yeah, I mean, who are we to meddle in other countries’ policy?

Well, at least he did the research. The wrong research, but research.

If you can’t spot that that post is actually supposed to be an ironic comment on the USA then I suggest you shut this blog now. Look at the name of the poster FFS – it means “I speak the truth”

You seem a bit angry. Have a quick nap, it’ll perk you right up.

I’d like to submit this quote “You need to bang yourself against a wall for a bit until you’re less rubbish.” which responded to a comment and missed the obvious point that the op was being sarcastic.

If he is being sarcastic etc, he still needs to bang himself against a wall – far too clever by half…

I’m sure Parlour Vera’s comment is really very very clever. To me (and the chap who submitted it) it seemed odd and stupid. I now realise that this is because he/she was being far too clever AND funny and my inability to spot the hilarity tells you all how stupid I am but does not refelect on Parlour Vera’s wit. He/she is, I am assured, razor sharp.

    I’M VERY SORRY EVERYBODY.

don’t get butthurt about it – you generally do a good job on here, but sometimes you miss blindingly obvious sarcasm. You can’t play the “HA HA LOOK AT THE IDIOTS” card unless you are able to spot deliberatly ironic posts on Speke Youre Branes.

Nelson, you’ve let the readers down and you’ve let yourself down but most importantly, you’ve let me down. You’ve broken all the rules with this one (for rules, see Mic’s comments) and because of that I don’t see how I can carry on reading this site.

mlc, I was taking the piss. If you can’t spot that that post is actually supposed to be.. blah blah and so forth, let’s go round again :)

Not only the comment gibberish, the Italian is hardly Dante. “Parlo la verita’” perhaps. “I talk true” is just nonsense.
