You forget that in the ordered, monocultural, pure Anglo-Saxon utopia we would have gleaned from losing WWII, everybody would have to speak German.

We lost the second world war by winning it? It all makes sense now when I hear people saying we ‘won’ the Iraq war. Does that also mean that the Americans actually won the Vietnam war by losing it?
