WE will pop at no one; I seek angry responses. If referring to you as a lefty yields such pissy responses as they have so far… then you’re a lefty!

On a serious note though (no, seriously) don’t you think that Plane Idiot and the like are naive, childish or even dangerous? What do they hope to accomplish by their silly little tricks? Does it break their hearts so much that common proles like moi now have access to cheap air travel? Or those idiots who disrupt coal carrying freight trains on the way to power stations. So long as these same naive and ignorant fools damn nuclear power we will have to burn coal. These environutters have no apparent constructive goal in mind.

If they want to reduce pollution for the public good then fine, but that seems a redundant cause in most of the developed world today considering how clean the air is. I don’t honestly see how throwing green slime on politicians is going to reduce pollution. It’s funny but it’s not going to reduce pollution. And on the subject of Ontario’s nickel: if Toyota didn’t use it then someone else would. Pollution in one form or another is a fact of life, so long as we want to keep living with all the toys we take for granted. Maybe Time should produce a sequel to their “radical Islam is here to stay; how to live with it”: “pollution is here to stay; how to live with it”

Also, on a broader point, I continue to be astonished that we get accused of being left-wing because we pillory right-wing idiots. This may come as a newsflash, but this site exists to take the piss out of the excesses of HYS stupidity, which comes in one flavour – fascist delight – and nothing else. Show me an actual left-wing idiot (and no, LLP does not count, he’s so centrist there are white lines painted down him) and I’m sure we’d have a pop at them too.

George, dear flower, I’m afraid I have some bad news for you. Your original argument was that the Prius is actually every bit – if not more – harmful to the environment than a normal car. I – and, er, anyone with a half a brain about the issues – completely agree with you. I’m afraid then, that by your own token, you are one of these “lefties” that you so despise. I think there’s counselling for that, but it’s on the NHS, so…
