To be fair though, Romford is a fucking horrible place filled to overflowing with Sun readers and other cunts who'll bang on for weeks about some immigrant being given a 50p sticking plaster on the NHS but didn't lift a finger when their local council pissed away millions on a swimming pool whose roof fell in after five years, so actually yes, I would count it as absolutely fair to mock people on the basis of living there, and have done so. But that's not based on any urban snobbishness, just actual familiarity with Romford.

John Smith: clever as you are, which is clearly very clever as you use big long words and no swears, you seem to have misunderstood the hermeneutic methods of spEak You're bRanes. Apart from posts on specific, named commenters, which we have termed "regular twats", our method is generally to read each comment as an integral text, and mock it solely on the implications therein. This is of course, not always particularly sophisticated. Sometimes, a HYSer will, through his or her post, come across as a cunt, and we will see no need to be more specific in our criticism, though I believe Nelson and Kelvin went through a phase of speculation as to the species to which said genital belonged. Naturally, with the so-called "regular twats", a picture of their personality begins to shine through and we can indulge in hearty speculation. However, except where, in relation to the comment, it quite obviously results in hypocrisy, stupidity or downright mendacity (for example Dave M here, or the entirety of this post), the actual location of the poster is normally not included in the joke, for the simple reason that it's not funny. Though I believe someone did once make fun of a poster for complaining about a local influx of some kind of ethnic undesirable, and their location was an area entirely devoid of any kind of ethnic diversity. A posh, leafy, middle-class area if I remember rightly. As for this particular post, the crux of the joke is that her husband has been turned down for courses several times, almost certainly because he lacked the necessary traits and qualifications, and his wife, unable to accept that the man she married may be too stupid, aggressive, inarticulate or untrustworthy for the profession, has latched onto a tabloid myth as an excuse, and one cynically concocted to incite hatred and distrust of immigrants and non-whites. Nelson seems to have jumped to the conclusion that her husband is as self-entitled and delusional as his wife, and that he believes the same bollocks. The implication of this is that it was the particular combination of stupidity, aggression, inarticulacy and self-entitlement that we call "racism" that made him a poor candidate. "Romford" is included only for the sake of completeness. You might as well criticise the BBC for allowing posters to specify location, and the subsequent implication that one may judge their perspective or validity from it. If you read Nelson's comment again, you will notice no reference to class or location, only to personal attitudes and the ruddiness of his face, far more likely to describe perpetual anger than rural lifestyle. However, I understand that you may yourself live in Romford, and would prefer that we did not make fun of its residents. If this is the case, please contact Nelson, writing "Request for local impunity" in the subject line, and ask that he find and remove all posts listing Romford as a location. We on spEak You're bRanes take readers' complaints as seriously as anything else, and I am quite sure you will receive a prompt reply. Comrade509, you're an idiot. No, really, you are. Read the article again, carefully, read what the legislation actually is, and then punch yourself really hard in the groin. Trust me on this.

Yes, that probably would have helped. I mean, ideally what would have been perfect would have been if you had an actual point.
