An old one from the thread when Wendy Richards died.

She wasnt what you would call a “great” actress, but could hold her own against many who were thought to be and was able to emote more than most actresses in soaps do in a lifetime.
She will be missed, but leaves a legacy of work that will long be fondly remembered.

Thanks for that.

It reminded me a bit of Jeremy Paxman desperately trying to dredge up a plausible opposing position and keep things “balanced” when he can blatantly see, along with everyone watching, that one of the guests in his “debate” is making some kind of sense while the other is talking freshly-squeezed horseshit.

Having Wendy, Jade and now Clement up in heaven does make the prospect of dying a tiny bit less frightening.

Given that I will be, to quote Satan in “Jerry Springer: The Opera”, ‘going down’ when I shuffle off these mortal clogs the thought of Wendy, Jade and Clement being in heaven is indeed quite reassuring.

Maybe andie99uk is being fair and balanced to practice for their Fox News interview.

There’s something very troubling to me about the “but” in this:

She will be missed, but leaves a legacy of work that will long be fondly remembered.

I rather like this one, as making slightly more sense:

She won’t be missed, but leaves a legacy of work that will long be fondly remembered.

    or perhaps:

She will be missed, but leaves a legacy of work that will not be fondly remembered.

Though really they all boil down to:

Blah blah blah dead person blah blah stupid comment blah blah I like to make stupid comments about dead people blah blah Jade Lady Di Mother Teresa blah blah

Excuse me, I have read too much of this page again, and need to go and bang my head on the floor a while longer.

    Blockquotes are rubbish.

    @ Martin:

I suspect the pluralisation may be a sly Lee & Herring reference. Could be wrong, though.

At any rate, Andie is quite correct to mention Ms. Richardzsesz’ “ability to emote”. She could >:(, O_o and %-~! with the best of ‘em!

Afraid I just didn’t know what her name was. I like it that someone thought I was being clever though. Thanks.

wow, you know, as a vague anti-theist i’ve never really thought much about heaven- although, if people like Jade goody, wendy whats-her-name, HYSers et al are up there…I think i’ll take my chances with the red guy downstairs. :)
    Hail Satan! etc…
