Only fund students undertaking courses that we need as a country, engineers, the traditional sciences, medicine (not the ‘ologies’) for example. All the other mickey mouse degrees – womens studies, media studies, female toenail growth in the seventeenth century (Harriet Harmans personal favourite), golf course management/care, etc. should be run on a full cost recovery basis.

As a Critical Theory nerd, I offer – free of charge! – to sit hardworkingbrit down and explain to him why the ‘ologies’ are so important. A few hours explaining the works of Baudrillard, Adorno and Irigaray should help change hi… oh. Never mind.
